Hi all, this didn't happen to me but someone I know, and no-one seems to know what is best to do so I thought I'd ask on here for him. He sold a T-shirt for £45 but after a few days got a complaint from the buyer saying that the print was cracked. The buyer then emailled paypal who gave him a full refund for the item, yet he still has the T-shirt. He's ignoring emails asking for it to be sent back, so he obviously has no intention of doing so. Is there any way my friend can open some sort of dispute against the buyer so he can get the shirt sent back or now that Paypal has sent him a refund is there no way to make him do this?
Thanks
Thanks

Twice people have open disputes and returned items only for them never to come back and Paypal to refund them regardless. The problem is that paypal restrict your response to a) refund b) refund c) refund. Unless its changed there is no d) Buyer has not returned item0 -
I thought they would have to send proof that they returned the item before Paypal would refund as well, but I don't think they even asked the buyer to send it back at all. When he contacted Paypal about it they basically sent him a 'sorry for your inconvenience' cookie cutter email without actually addressing his specific problem. Is there nothing he can do?

Are you sure Paypal have actually refunded the buyer rather than just putting the money "on hold" awaiting the outcome of the return delivery?Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
This does seem very odd, are you 100% sure you haven't missed a dispute or something Check all your spam filters etc.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. had a similar situation but from the other side, i bought a hand drill which was broken and started a dispute about it, seller didnt respond so i won that, left them a neg for selling broken items, then they started a non paying bidder against me and sent me an email asking for me to pay (really cheeky as they ignored multiple emails i sent asking for their return address, ive sent about 6 now asking the same thing over the space of 2 months).
now i have the item which is faulty, and paypal has refunded me, i feel really guilty because of this, although i have tried to get the return details(i havent a clue how to get their address its not listed anywhere), im probably gonna get a npb strike although i have replied to it.
very similar situation with the only problem being that hes using the system to scam you and i tried to use it legitmately
.
also most tshirts i have, have cracked print on them, i quite like the look.0 -
Samba Pa Ti, your experience is how it should work, that is why we were so mystified.
The way we are reading the OP it sounds like the buyer has been refunded without any dispute even being opened.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
