hello,

Right I'll try and explain it so that it is clear!!

Hubby wants a boat and we both agreed to get a credit card to buy it so we went for the tesco clubcard cos it has 0% for 12 months on purchases. (the plan is to switch in 12 months).

however he has now seen the perfect boat but it is not via a trader or shop its a private sale so is there any way of using the credit card??

I was thinking a money transfer into a current account as we need £2000 and understand there would be a 3% fee which we don't mind but would we get high interest charged for this straight away? in other words will the money transfer not be included in the 0% period?

Or do you think we could ask the advertiser if he has paypal? but doesnt he have to upgrade to premier paypal account and pay to accept credit cards?

Please help, hope i have made it clear???

thanks xxxx

Unfortunately, not. A few rather special cards will allow you to transfer an overdraft to them, (in other words, transfer cash from the credit card to your current account), at balance transfer rates. A 3-4% handling fee applies, but there are no other charges during the introductory 0% period. You need:

a card issued by MBNA (e.g. MBNA itself, Sony, Virgin), Egg card or the Post Office card.

Which deal is best depends, to some extent, on which cards - besides Tesco - you have at the mo or have held recently.
People who don't know their rights, don't actually have those rights.

ok Thanks , Thought not :-(

i have spoken to the advertiser and asked if he has paypal and he does so i suppose it just depends whether he is able to accept card payments, i dont mind paying any fees.

Can i pay using paypal with no hidden rates etc?
