ok, i'm a little late on the uptake...but I'm currently trying to claim back £2525 worth of bank charges from Lloyds tsb, through the financial hardship route. I've got a list of all charges (without interest), wrote and sent special delivery 2 letters one to my local branch, and one to the Gresham St, London address to no avail...absolutely no response.
it's been a month now.
Should I chase it with a phonecall, write again or wait a bit longer?...(how long does it normally take to get a response?)
Any help/advice would be much appreciated.

Ok let's see what we can do. Re send the letter, include an income and expenditure form: http://www.moneyadvicetrust.org/content.asp?ssid=38
Plus you need to send any notices of arrears as well and send to here(recorded mail
).

You are a st**r!
Thank you. I'm on a reduced payment plan with cccs. could I perhaps include the budget they did with me (and am living by)? maybe photocopies of payslips or bank statement?0 -
Notices of arrears are the main thing. The bank will have details of your account if you are still using it. If you explain the drop in income they should be more amenable to look into it.You are a st**r!

well the account is still open, but i switched to a basic account with co-op because the charges were literally eating away my income to an unmanageable level and I got into more debt as a result.
but yeah, I have lots of arrears (due to loss of employment) which have been passed onto collection agencies which are hassling me because they won't accept my reduced payments through cccs. but that's another matter.0 -

Are they priority debt arrears(mortgage/rent, council tax, utilities)?
If they are credit card charges then start on them first and maybe look and see if you have PPI as well cos they are easier to claim than bank charges.0 -
all of my debts are non priority - 2x unsecured loans, overdraft and 2x cc's. i never missed a payment on credit cards because of direct debit and I didn't take out protection on the loans.0

They will say no to financial hardship, unfortunately, but at least it will be acknowledged by the bank and in the queue once the OFT test case issues are resolved.all of my debts are non priority - 2x unsecured loans, overdraft and 2x cc's. i never missed a payment on credit cards because of direct debit and I didn't take out protection on the loans.0
