No, plug something else onto the extension cable. If it still trips it's the cable. If not it's the fridge/freezer.
Is that circuit fitted with an RCD or just an MCB? An MCB won't detect earth leakage, only overcurrent.
Would be advisable to have the RCD or MCB checked on that circuit for your own safety, as it may not be functioning correctly.No free lunch, and no free laptop

There is an RCD on that circuit and it has tripped in the past.
good point about plugging something else into the socket will give it a go.
By the way, like your sig, probably because its soo true.
