Is there an easy way to transfer film from a vhs video tape to my computer? or do i have to buy any special equipment

I think you have to buy a special program and a lead to connect your video to your pc.

Sorry dont know what its called but I do know it involves some expense as I asked at pc world about 'backing up my video collection incase it gets damaged'.

We bought a dvd recorder instead and its so easy to put a video to dvd disk.

Very easy but bear in mind that not all videos (even old ones) can be copied.

you can get a usb video capture card or get a cheap dvd recorder. (or get a dvd recorder out of argos use it and take it back

its not a film as such but some footage from a cctv camera, only about 30 mins long

if your stuck I can put it on a dvd or cd for you if you include a sae.
