0844 numbers,VM now charging me more pm?

Hi
just checked my VM phone bill and now it seems that all the 0844 numbers that i use to get the cheap rate have now stopped
VM are now charging around 6p pm
When did this start? And what can i do?
I need to call France this week-end and have no idea how much i will be charged if i use one of the special acess numbers.
