I have finally relented and allowed my eldest daughter (14) to have a PC in her room. I would like to change the current 17" CRT for a TFT so am looking for recommendations.
My thoughts/wishes are as follows:
Anyone have an opinion on this one from Amazon? The reviews look good.

My thoughts/wishes are as follows:
- Cheap - ideally £150 or less incl. postage.
- Bright - 300 cd/m2 because her bedroom is south facing and the windows are huge
- Good contrast ratio - 400:1 or better would be ideal
- 12ms refresh or better, but not so critical as this won't be a games machine, just Internet & Office stuff
- Don't care about DVI, D-Sub is perfectly acceptable.
- Don't care about integral speakers (although that won't stop me buying a good monitor if it does have them)
- Don't care about case colour - silver/black etc.

I also quite like the Viewsonic VA702 - £149 from Amazon. Our existing 17" TFT is a Viewsonic and is really good. http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B000B78GBW

Thanks to everyone for the suggestions.
I just took delivery this morning of a £144 Samsung ST74V 17" TFT. It met my criteria for brightness- 300 cd/m2, but actually exceed the contrast figure at 600:1.
I bought it from Insight who are not normally known as a cheap vendor, but employees of my company get free next-day shipping so who was I to argue?
