National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children. NSPCC

I'm taking part in The HACK 2009 – Hike Against Cruelty to Kids - which is a 25-mile sponsored challenge walk to raise money in September for the NSPCC.

The hike takes place in the stunning Yorkshire Dales National Park, where I will join other walkers through natural woodlands, valleys, viaducts and gorges and climb the pinnacle of the Ingleborough peak, Yorkshire's most famous flat top mountain which stands at 2,373ft tall, to enjoy one of the best views in England. Then I will walk back down through picturesque villages, finishing in Clapham, close to the birthplace of one of the founders of the NSPCC, Benjamin Waugh.

I am in desperate need of sponsors as I am trying to raise as much as I can for the NSPCC.

For those who don't know, The NSPCC is the UK's leading charity specialising in child protection and the prevention of cruelty to children. It is the only children's charity with statutory powers, enabling it to act to safeguard children.

Please sponsor me at www.justgiving.com/fcarr/, every little really does help folks.

Please pass on the url to anyone who you think might like to support me in my bid to raise funds for the NSPCC.

Thank you for taking the time to read through this.

  • I've still got about three weeks before I do the 25 mile challenge walk, so there's still time for folk to sponsor me if you'd be so kind. :o

You could also help me raise funds for the NSPCC by passing around and posting my url anywhere where you think folk might be interested in sponsoring me, that would be a big help folks.

My sponsorship page is at http://www.justgiving.com/fcarr/

Thank you folks, I really appreciate any help or sponsorship given. :T
  • I'm doing the walk this weekend, apparently there's been quite a bit of rain in the Dales over the last week or so so it's going to be a muddy walk by the sounds of it. God knows how I'll get up the mountain.

I'm keeping the sponsorship/donation page open for a couple of weeks after I've done the walk because of late pledges, so if anyone wants to sponsor me then please do so at www.JustGiving.com/FCarr
  • I did the challenge walk on Saturday, it was murder. lol

The weather was bad and it was very slippy. I took a tumble coming down Ingleborough Massif and hurt my right hip, which was a bit annoying because I still had 16 miles to walk.

But, I completed the walk in 10 hours 45 minutes. ;)

My sponsorship page will be kept open for a few weeks though as I chase up pledges, so if anyone would be kind enough to sponsor me a few quid then you can do so at www.JustGiving.com/FCarr :D

I've put a few photos of the walk on my sponsorship page too.
  • The photos are great! It is such a beautiful area and the photos really reflect that. Well done for completing the walk and for such a great cause!
