any help for 16 year old students

my son is due to start 6th form in sept to do his a levels. i was wondering if there is any financial help. im a single parent. my son has applied for numerous jobs, one has taken him on but is only casual hours, which up 2 yet he hasnt had any hours

I'm not too sure about general help, but I'm sure that your sons college will have a better answer than any of us here. My old college (City of Bristol College) was great at providing support to those that need it and I would definitely recommend scheduling a meeting with someone at your college to discuss options.

He can apply for an ema form online and if the family has low income and if he gets it, it is £30 a week. Appl online asap.

also most councils do cheap or free travel if you are low income -you need to apply to the local council.

Yes, EMA upto £30 a week + £100 bonus x 3 times a year. student pass for bus. plus you will still get child tax credits & child benefit if in F/T education.

I also remember my son getting some form of money £80 - £120 maybe 2 times a year, from some kind of fund he claimed through the college.
