Advice needed on where to go next with builder.

Options
Around 5 weeks ago, a local drive-way company dug up part of my drive by mistake (they had got the wrong house!). They were very sympathetic and offered to fix it (as they should). I asked them for a quote to get the whole drive replaced, as the work that they do is quite good. The quote, even with the extra discount was too much for me, so about 4 weeks ago I called them up saying that I could not afford the full drive, and could they just fix the damage. They said it would be about a week for them to get round to it, and I said that was not a problem. Problem is it has been 4 weeks now, and no contact from them.
So, what are my options?? Should I just call them up again and ask what is happening, or ask for details of their insurance company, or what??
Cheers for any help and advice.

(Hope this is in the right forum!)

It may be better to get a person's name then you should send the letter special delivery. That way the actual person has to sign for it. With recorded delivery anyone can sign and then they can play silly !!!!!!s.

Good idea, I have got the marketing managers name, as he came out to see me about it. I will send it SD to him.

    Update time...
Well I sent the letter, giving them 14 days to get in touch and to come to some arrangement, but they have not replied. It now looks like I may have to go down the small claims route. I realise now I have to write them another letter informing them of this, is this a notice of intent, or a letter of action? Also, does anyone know where I can find a draft letter, as I have googled and googled to no avail.

that was uncalled for and unhelpful. The poster has a good point, the last thing companies need these days is bad publicity.

Good advice pulliptears, and thanks, although I am hoping that I can get away with them not doing the work, as I am not sure I could trust them now to do a proper repair.
