Need a new washing machine - recommendations?

My dad was a washing machine engineer and his advice was to always buy one with low spin speeds because the high spin speeds are what burn the bearings out and destroy the machine the fastest.
I've always had Hoovers, one with a 500 lower speed and one with an 800 lower speed. Between them they've clocked up 25 years of service.:A Let us be grateful to people who make us happy: they are the charming gardeners who make our souls blossom. Marcel Proust :A0 -
We have had a Bosch then an AEG but I don't think their higher prices were justified as neither lasted longer than 5 or so years, We now have a Beko (just over 12 months old) and it has been fine up to now (touch wood!) I have also been told that they are easier/cheaper to repair as the "innards" are more basic/less complicated?0
