Norman antivirus picked up Swizzor.gen.A, Swizzor.gen.B and Swizzor.gen.C.
I've tried looking on websites for removal but can't find any of the files they mention to remove.
When I try to delete temporary internet files the computer freezes and I can only get it working again by rebooting.
I've also still (or again) got Lop.com - does anyone have the link for its removal?

ccleaner will get rid of your temp internet files and a lot of other junk.
I tried it when peter_the_piper suggested it a few weeks ago and it found a lot of really old temp stuff in my computer - even though I've run other cleaning programs recently
alternatively, you could empty the temp internet file manually by going to:
C:\Documents and Settings\<user-name>\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files
and just delting the stuff in it.
sorry I can't help with the other stuff0 -
Boot into safe mode
keep pressing f8 after you see your bios screen (this has info about memory, cpu processor etc.
Whne you get the startup menu choose safe mode.
Make sure you dont select with networking etc.
You should be able to do any maintenance you need with regard to cleing internet cache and removing viruses from quarantine. also grab yourself a copy of the cleaner by moosoft.
http://www.moosoft.com/products/cleaner/download/
removes trojans and is a nice piece of software.

What ?
Do you mean a Java application or part of the JDK was detected as being infected? I'd say your getting a false positive.0 -
Thanks. I'm just scanning with the Cleaner now.Torgwen..........

The Cleaner didn't find Swizzor.
It did find 4 other trojans - one P2P one and "Mouse Mover" x 3.
Norman antivirus still picks up swizzor in 56 files and I have tried scans with Norman & AVG and it just freezes the computer when you get to the end of the scan and try to click "clean". I have also run it in safe mode (which you can't do with AVG). Have now contacted Norman support.Torgwen.....................

I think you can run avg 7 in safe mode (though you couldn't with 6)
I've done a full scan with 7 in safe mode a few times before - though I've never had to remove a virus so I don't know if it works fully.0 -

I don't think so I had 4 of themand a trojan horse downloader stubby B.
I read about the false positive's when I was trying to deal with them, I read about this on the AVG forum and they provided a lot of help.
And I have run AVG 6 in safe mode before and it was fine and so is the AVG 7 OK run in safe mode as I did this 2 night's ago.0 -
Norman replied with a fix for Swizzor. Their customer services always reply promptly to me and they detect viruses etc. before AVG does (I have both on my computer). AVG had not recognised Swizzor though it was originally in 65 files and in 4 different forms.Torgwen..........
