Had a lovely weekend. Yesterday enjoyed a open doors day to Dynamic Earth in Edinburgh. Not been for years and my lovely DD seemed to enjoy it too. We had to pay £3 for car park which was not happy about but there was a huge clan gathering event in Holyrood park and there was no car parking to be had for miles around. Never mind. Hope you are all well and enjoying MondayDFW 228 LONG H 68

Morning all!
Grey, cold, windy and wet in Manc today - not at all like the summer!
My newly invigorated money saving mission starts today - I have resigned and am working 5 weeks notice and then a week off then back to uni - scary!!
So this month I have to pay for new car insurance, the rest of the deposit for the car (£800, £600 saved so £200 to come out of salary this month), new laptop to buy (mine is a work one that will be going back), OH's birthday, 2 weekend trips to Wales to help mum after hysterectomy and countless other worrying expenses.
Thankfully I get paid on the 15th and this month is a bonus month so I should be OK but its a concern all the same. So this month and for the foreseeable future budgeting and saving whereever I can is the way forward!
Today's efforts....- Breakfast at home
- Brought half used tin of beans and some bread to work for lunch
- Will make curry from stuff in fridge for tea
- Walk dog for free exercise
- Move money around bank accounts ready to pay for car on Weds
- Charge phone at work
- Report lost Nectar card and get a new one
- Phone wedding hotel to sort out a few small issues
- Arrange 7 day free car insurance
- Get quotes for new car insurance - at the moment the cheapest is £225 with Admiral - anyone had experience with them? Are they OK?
- Do meal plan for the week and next week if possible
- Tidy house up a bit
- Do work expenses

Hi everyone - it has been raining on and off here all day today, but I have decided to ignore it now and carry on regardless!
1) SC x 10p
2) Recieved £15 from SC site and paid it straight to the CC.
3) Checked Quidco and will have enough for a payout this month.
4) Recieved a Bananas book site order and have put the books away in my Xmas stash. Also got 20 lovely Indian handmade cards for £4.50 for my present stash.
5) Met some friends and their kiddies for free entertainment at the park this morning. Wet, but fun.
6) Did a mini shop at Tesco and used MOCs.
7) Had an unexpected visit from other friends this afternoon which was a nice surprise. Declined friends kind invitation to go to Ikea this evening.
8) OH has taken B to see Harry Potter using our Monday BOGOF card, so just snacks for tea tonight. Yay, no cooking!
9) Washing drying on airers.
Payday on Thursday, can't wait! I am at work for the next three days so hopefully shoudn't spend too much, but fingers crossed this is another month where I've kept under budget.
Have lovely evenings y'all!
