Hi
Was wondering if anyone knew my rights on returning a gift card.
Basically I have bought a gift card for an upcoming wedding, but a misunderstanding between my husband and I has resulted in him buying one as well!!
Do you know if we can return 1 and get our money back? Its from Debenhams so not like we could really use it ourselves for anything at the moment and its for £80! So am hoping I'll be able to get refund as cant really afford not to
TIA

Why couldn't you use it yourselves?
If you telephone, find out the Managers name, then make an appointment to go in to see him, taking both, you will stand the best chance.Otherwise I fear they may say no?0 -
If you can't get a refund, you could try selling it on ebay.
Oddly you usually get almost full value, and sometimes even slightly more for gift cards. Here I go again on my own....0 -
From what i can remember the till systems at Debenhams dont allow the refund of a gift card, the transaction can be reversed but there is a time limit (think has to be done on that trading day).0

i wouldnt have thought it would be refundable, you may be able to sweet talk a manager by explaining your predicament, but if you get no where with that either keep it/sell it, you may make a small loss by selling it but its better than an £80 gift card thats not going to be usedEveryones opinion is the most important.....no wonder nothing is ever agreed on.0

It's unlikely to be refundable. Buy yourself something niceSquirrel! If I tell you who I work for, I'm not allowed to help you. If I don't say, then I can help you with questions and fixing products. Regardless, there's still no secret EU law.
Now 20% cooler0 -
I really doubt you'd get a refund. It would be at the manager's discretion so write directly to him.
They have a long expiry date on so you could save it to buy xmas presents with. Or get in touch with someone else going to the wedding and see if they will buy it from you as a gift.0 -
Sell it on ebay, and make sure you send it special delivery.
Or contact another wedding guest and get them to buy it off you?
or keep it and put it towards xmas presents! It's only 5 months awayShould've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
Thanks...its not that we CANT use it ourselves, but as with most people, we really cant afford to lose out on the £80 this month
Not looking good by the sounds of it though!!0
