Property prices Jan 2006

Can anyone tell me if a property was sold in January 2006 (3 1/2 years ago) for £165,000 what is today price likely to be? Many thanks... Twixeey

    I can't post a link as a new user, but if you search google for nationwide house price calculator, you can work it out

  • Could be between 10-20% less for a house, and maybe upto 30% for flats.

    go to land registry house prices, and do a indivdual search on your area. Thats your best guide.

    The above replies assume the house hasn't changed significantly since then; if the current owners have built a massive extension that would change things. :)

    The Halifax House Price Index was 554.0 (£168,148) in Jan 06.

    In June 09 it was 527.4 (£160,054).

    This is an average fall of 4.8% across all types of property in all areas.

    However, given the heterogeneity of the housing market this could be made up of anything from massive falls in city centre apartments to small increases in family homes in certain areas.
