Hi All
I just bidded, won, bought an item off ebay paid via paypal however the seller now says they don't want to sell to me as they think i'll cause problems:mad: They must be psychic or something as i've got 100% positive feedback no neutrals even & no complaints. They said they'll give me a refund, i've already replied saying i don't mind but i'd prefer the item i bidded on really. So what should my next move be as i've never been in this predicament before.
I wonder why i bother sometimes like i've said before on MSE i buy something from half the way across the world e.g. china/hong kong 'happy days' down the road from me and 'there'll be hell to pay'. Okay ok maybe a bit of af an exaggeration:p as most UK seller are top notch, but you can get some strange people from time to time, do they won't to sell the thing or not. Plus retracting my bid chops of a good sum of money, i just don't get it.
I think they got the hump with me because i asked a few questions about the item, but is that really a just cause for not accepting my bids & payment??? advise please

Sounds to me like a non performing seller report and a negative feedback could be in order.
I also wouldn't agree to a mutual withdrawal so they have to pay all fees, but then I may be a little harsh because something similar happened to me recently over something I particularly wanted. (It didn't make the price the seller expected, so they wouldn't sell)0 -
Maybe they're not happy with the price it finished at? It's really not on though. If they're not prepared to sell it, they shouldn't list it.
I'd tell them either they send it you or you'll do as Rebel suggested. Think happy & you'll be happy

Hey sweetie,
That does seem odd doesn't it? Don't take it personally - there are loonies on both sides of the eBay fence.
What did you ask them then?
I'm curious. Not everything that can be counted counts, and not everything that counts can be counted. Einstein0 -
I'd also like to know what you asked, it sounds like you triggered a worry in a seller and some questions make us reach for the 'arghhh' button without a second thought.
Yes you can neg but sometimes that can reflect badly on a buyer so think carefully. Maybe get a good friend to take a look at the messages you sent, do they think they sound odd, are they conforontational in any way, do you give any impression at all that you might not be understanding the item or the process
If you do leave a neg and buyer responds with something like 'Buyer asked some very odd questions' you might find it a struggle to buy from any seller who checks buyer feedback left, and some do.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. i would do as suggest demand the item to be sent, or you will leave neg, it wont reflect badly as long as your neg is factual and not !!!!!y, simply state "this ebayer changed their mind after the auction finished and decided not to sell," personally i would add a few extrasbut thats up to youEveryones opinion is the most important.....no wonder nothing is ever agreed on.0

I think you should go gentle on the seller. I mean at least they were honest. They could have "sent" you the item. And then when it didn't arrive refunded your money. At least now you know that they are not going to send it. I would refuse to mutally agreed to cancel the transaction so they lose their fees but only leave them netural not negative. To be honest losing the fees is going to be a slap in the face and a reminder to start items at a price your willing to sell them for!0

Thanks for all your advice guys, sorry for the late reply but it's taken this long to get the whole thing sorted. I did refuse to mutually agree to cancelling the transaction which he wasn't too happy about.
All i asked was what kind of condition the item was in and it's performance and i gave a rating of poor/good/very good/excellent (it was near the end of the listing). He replied back and said it worked fine and he was only selling because he bought a new one ?? i think he slipped up there and became a bit defensive when i won as then e-mailed again saying he didn't want to sell it to me.
He did refund promptly, but before resolving the dispute he relisted the same item again and it seems wasn't happy again. Then relisted it again, third time lucky eh?, the same one item and stuck gold sold it for over £100+ which is quite ridiculous as you could buy it brand new from the brands manufacturer for that price.
Ebay's removing the item from my account and i have not and will not leave negative feedback, I don't see the point. I just think he wanted more money and that he should have put a reserve on it. I'm happy that was the reason for him refusing to sell, as he left me feeling like i did or said something wrong. Anyway i found something better and for cheaper, so i'm happy now.:AeBay 100 item challenge- 16/100 => £268.95

You can still report him as a non performing seller without leaving a neg. Which it sounds like he deserves0
-
I would report him to, then it will make him think twice in the future and put somebody else throught the same hassle as you, it worked out good for you but it might not for the next person0
