Egypt end of May or June

Hi!
I would like to go to Egypt at the end of May/early June for 2 weeks. I've seen some pretty good deals for the different destinations there and I fancy all inclusive.
I wondered if anyone could advice where the best place to go is? I'm looking for a good price for 2 adults (preferably less than £1000 for us both) or cheaper if possible. I wondered what kind of sights and attractions were on offer and which destination is best plus also I wanted some advice on how the weather will be. I'm pretty fair skinned and I'm worried that the heat would be too much for me.
I went to Rhodes last August and that was manageable but I think Egypt is a lot hotter!
Hope someone can advise
Thanks a lot

It al depneds on what you want to do on holiday.
Are you thinking Luxor or the Red Sea resorts.
The newer resort of Marsa Alam will offer best value but little to do there apart from dive, snorkel and sunbath.
Taba is also quieter but you can do several trips from there.
----
Couple of prices based on GATWICK early June
Holiday Inn Resort TABA
2nd June 14 nights 4* AI
£827 for both
Marsa Alam Brayka Bay Hotel 4*HB
31st May 14 nights
£743 for both
Sofitel Karnak Luxor 4*HB
29th May 14 nights
£898.00
There ae still a lot out there once you have decided on what you want to doIf you look anything like your passport photo....Your too ill to travel0 -
If you want to see the Ancient Egypt then IMHO you should fly to Luxor and take a cruise along the Nile to Aswan and back to Luxor. (it takes about a week, round trip, and you will see lots of temples and visit the Valley of the kings.
When you get to Aswan take the trip to Abu Simbal. (You get up early and see the sun rise over the Sahara, then you visit Abu Simbal itself (rescued from the lake which formed after the Aswan Dam was built) and should be back in Aswan by early afternoon.
During the cruise search out some people that you can pal up with for a second week in Luxon (6 people are best). You can hire out a car, falluca etc as a group and see some more of the Valley of the Kings.
I would arrange a day trip (flight) to Cairo. Surprisingly that gives you enough time to see the Cairo Museum (where king Tut's stuff is on display) also the Pyramids and Sphinx and have the inevitable ride on a camel and return to Luxor at dusk.
There are lots of companies like this one http://www.theholidayplace.co.uk/so_requestform.asp?OfferID=375
Doing that kind of cruise. I would personally look for one where the hotel in Luxor for the 2nd week is the New Winter Palace. It gives you the facilities of the Old Winter Palace next door which is like something out of an Agatha Christie Novel... but all of the big hotels are excellentI'm Glad to be here... At my age I'm glad to be anywhere!!

be warned though before you book take a look at holidayuncovered and holiday watchdog for customer reviews on hotels etc.... I have heard it is a lovely place and hope to go as soon as my little one bit older... put off by the jabs you need...
Good Luck..... try https://www.otbeach.com for good pricesI would love to be a Travel Agent :j0 -
I was thinking of Hurghada but I'm not sure if there is much to do there. I don't know if there would be excursions available and how long they take and the cost involved.
I don't mind not seeing all of the sights but a few days out would be nice.
Thanks for all your replies!

Just arrived back from El Gouna on Saturday after 12 nights and before that Cairo for 3 nights. Overall it was a superb holiday but it was 90 degrees when we left Cairo at midday on Saturday. I dread to think of the temperature at the end of May/June!
We really enjoyed all aspects of the holiday though El Gouna was just for chilling. Trips were available to everywhere at good prices but after Cairo we had had enough of sightseeing. We'll save the Valley of the Kings etc. for another time.
We had no jabs for the holiday, though we are all up to date with the usual ones.
The prices were reminiscent of old style Greek prices, really cheap except for alcohol due to 465% tax
We took a taxi to Hurghada and walked up the main shopping street. TBH, not that impressed, all shops sold virtually the same and the shopkeepers were diving out of the door to drag us in. Can't comment on the sea/hotels side but on our way out the taxi driver showed us loads of hotels that have been being built for years and now stand virtually derelict. Try someone who stayed there though rather than my fleeting view!
El Gouna is worth a look at https://www.elgouna.com though you are not likely to get into the luxury hotels for £1000 for both of you for 2 weeks.
Overall, we had a great holiday.
Best of luck and hope you get there.0
