Eurostar have taken payment for a failed booking!

Tried to make an online booking on Eurostar & got all the way through the booking & credit card details (entered) when I pressed confirm it kicked me out & sent an email saying payment error, no booking made & no payment taken. Tried my mums credit card incase that was the problem, it happened again.
Next day rang customer service, was told it wasnt an online booking system, woman made booking for me (never got the same good rate as I would have online) and received tickets 3 days later -fairly happy.
Then checked my bank account for something else today & they have taken the £145 for this booking (that never was & wasnt booked through a live system), they also taken it out of my mums card aswell.
Im furious, ive been lied to obviously as if it wasnt a live system how come they taken payment? I ended up calling a 0870 number to make booking (lost more money) & ended up paying more for my trip as couldnt get online deal. Aswell as wasting time tomoorrow trying to get my money & my mums money back.
Furious.....ive emailed the CEO & Top man at Eurostar, how dare they take payment when they blatently state no payment taken. Im fed up with companies taking advantage of people & staff not doing their jobs right (had so many problems with staff from other companies recently where ive had to check, recheck things are done right).
Sorry for venting my anger, im so fed up with it all. Wish I hadnt booked with Eurostar now they are totally incompentant. Ive asked for compensation aswell as an explanation & payment back in our accounts by COP Monday.
