Toyota Yaris with high mileage
Hi there,
Just after some opinions please. I've finally decided that I'm going for a Yaris, and the 00-03 1.3 CDX Autos seem to be in my price range.
I have just seen an 04 plate 1.3 spirit (top spec) and I think I may be able to get it in my price range, but it has 100K+ miles on it.
Do you think that's too much for such a little car?
Thanks in advance for any answers.

Well I had a quick chat with the dealer and he said it's coming in tomorrow and that it's had one owner, who did a lot of motorway driving. He didn't have all the details to hand, so will find out about tax and MOT tomorrow.Getting there... A deal at a time. :T0

It will be fine. Motorway miles are the best miles a car can see.0

Check if its it a MMT gearbox!! if it is buy with caution they are known to have problems and the gearbox can be expensive to repair ??
The yaris in manual version is a good car0 -
Obviously you'll check the service history, regular oil changes and that all important cambelt change.
They do for some reason fetch very high prices, don't pay over the odds for the type of car it is, lots of others just as good....Hyundai Getz for example, probably still under warranty too (5 years).0 -
Thank you for the answers.
I have back and neck problems which is why I am looking at an automatic that is easy to get in and out of. After test driving a C3, Getz, Fusion and Yaris, the Yaris felt more comfortable.
I will definitely check out the service history and will double check it's not a MMT. I test drove one of those earlier in the year when I was going to get a car on motability and it was awful. The 2001 model I tried this weekend was much better.
So regular oil changes and cambelt change, I'll add that to my list of questions. The dealer is quite far away, and I'm trying to get as much info as I can before going all that way. Is there anything that would be a 'don't bother going' dealbreaker?
No full sevice history?Getting there... A deal at a time. :T0 -
You could have a look at the link below it will give you some ideas of what questions to ask

They are popular with Driving Schools, check the front passenger side seats/ floor/carpets for tell tale signs.;)
Some car dealers have been known to tell porkies..0 -
100k+ miles is nothing. So long as its been looked after you're getting a bargain and some of what's going to go faulty has already gone faulty and been replaced.0
