one of the fans had a green plastic cover over it which I removed & cleaned & it wasn't that one - I haven't been back inside as I've got so much to catch up on now its working & I thought as those new RAM should be with me in a day or 2, when I go in I'll check the diagram & let you know which one was the culprit then0 -
Good, that's the CPU fan (the processor fan). I was worried you might have missed that one. It must be the PSU fan (or the graphics card fan if fitted). Make sure that both of those are also cleaned.No free lunch, and no free laptop0

installed the RAM ok - I think the fan was a graphic card fan from what I can make out but cleaned anyway & no repeat of noise etc - thanx one & all0
