Socket behind oven

no idea how the built-in ovens works - have a look in the installation notes see what it says about connection to the mains and how much gap should be behind the oven.
I was looking at the built in ovens from Comets website the other day and apparently most (if not all) stated the following...Requires hardwiring in to a cooker socket
Needs to be wired directly in to a cooker socket
I do not know if Comet are just covering themselves or if this is a must from the manufacturers?
Or ensure the turkey isnt burnt
