MS Money help?

I've been using MS Money for years to track current accounts and credit cards. It's fine for that, but when I try to get info about investments into it I'm sure it should be easier.
The latest thing is trying to get a mortgage into it so that my payments from my current account are tracked and it gives some realistic picture of where we're up to. Just setting it up seems incomprehensible. It won't let me do so until I input 'principal + interest' and something called 'balloon amount'. I've had to give up after several attempts. It's complicated by having two interest-only mortgages on the same property, with the building society just quoting the total amount for both.
Anyway, I just wondered if anyone local to me (Edinburgh) could offer a little coaching on how to set up share investments and mortgages in Money (it'd probably have to be 'sitting next to nelly') OR suggest an alternative into which I could easily pour my years of accumulated Ms Money data?
