At present the easiest option is automatic tunnelling.
Unless your computer is behind a unsuitable (symmetric) NAT or firewall Teredo is trivial to configure:
Windows XP (SP1 or later):
At a command prompt enter:netsh interface ipv6 install netsh interface ipv6 set teredo client
Windows Vista:
It enables automatically though you need to configure Windows Firewall unless the servers request the use of Teredo and allegedly DNS doesn't work unless you configure another IPv6 address.
Mac OS X and Linux: Install Miredo
If you have 6to4 capable router with a public IPv4 address it's just needs turning on, if it's not already enabled. However some ISPs mess it up. It can be made to work behind NAT routers with some effort and is also supported by major operating systems.
To get static IPv6 addresses despite dynamic IPv4 address you need a account with a tunnel broker.
PS. Windows users make sure you have installed all the security updates and have an IPv6 capable firewall.0 -
