Sorry if this is a silly question 
We have just bought a new(to us) car, and only taxed our old car at the end of last month. How do I apply for a refund for my car tax?

Sarah, read the back of the tax disc.0

You need form V14 - download here or get from Post Office.
Do this asap so you get a refund for August, needs to be postmarked before the 1st.
You also need to have returned the V5C/logbook notifying of the sale.

Just thought i'd mention that you need to take the tax disc out of the car.
Just saying because i got a car before and the guy that sold it turned up a couple of days later wanting it for his refund even though i had asked if it was included in the sale.slowly going nuts at the world:T0
