Do you know the rules?

Hi folks,

Was thinking of ways of things to sell on ebay as am running a little short of stuff hanging around the flat now. Now I have a very good knowledge of a few things, information that to other people may be quite valuable and useful (nothing illegal, just related to the job that I do). Now I would ideally like to test this out on ebay by writing a brief guide and seeing if there are any takers. Are there any rules regarding this kind of activity on ebay? I seem to remember someone telling me that you can't sell ebooks on there or something similar, but I could offer to send a hard copy in the post or an electronic version dependent on customer demand?

Any help or warnings would be appreciated as I don't want to breach any terms of use (I have looked but couldn't find anything about this:confused:)

Thanks :D

If you send a hard copy you are fine you cannot sell intangible items (eg ebooks emailed stuff etc). If you are producing something to sell you have to register as a business with ebay and inform the inland revenue within 3 months

Do you have to send a hard copy, or can you give the buyer the option?

And would you have to register as a business seller before you did a test run of say 10 items on a buy it now auction?

    Thanks cyberbob

From things I have read on these forums if you dont send a hard copy you have no proof of delivery and the buyer can claim not to have received and get a full refund from paypal
