According to thisLike most fruits, grapes develop sugar as they ripen, but they do not get riper and sweeter after they are harvested.

I usually test them surreptitiously while I'm in there! Tesco/Aldi/M&S wherever...
If one grape is ok I usually find the whole bunch are. Having bought sour grapes before I always test 1 or 2 now to make sure. I like them sweet and I find the flavour varies even in the same shop from bags on display at the same time.
Of course if they are in plastic boxes you can't do this so you just have to take your chances!0 -
I'm very happy with the grapes I bought yesterday - not sour at all. I'm certainly going to be buying my veg and fruit from there in future. It's 5 o'clock somewhere!0

I bought an aldi punnet. Some were ok but a lot were really bitter.0

I too found that the grapes were sour but the rest of the stuff was ok.The bananas went off quite quickly too, but I usually buy them fairly green to last longer.Good value at Aldi's though , I haven't tried them but my friend said that their eggs were good as well.0

I think Aldis grapes are always in cartons, of course you could always open a carton and pince one! Not sure what the staff would do if you got caught, is this technically shoplifting? Be suprised if they would do anything.
OT but this reminds me of another problem at Aldi carting that great trolley round, its about time they got some baskets. Once again if I took my own bag would it be classified as shoplifting?0 -
