Wore new shoes last night. I have a ten pence piece shaped hole on each heel where I used to have skin. What can I treat them with to make the skin grow back quickly. Am presently wearing toe-post sandals and can't bear to touch them. New shoes are now in charity bag for next collection!!

I always put mole skin on my heels with new shoes. Stops them rubbing. Its not real mole by the way just the name.
You could try New Skin from the chemist, it puts a seal on the holes until the heal.0 -
Compeed blister plasters are great for heels, so give your shoes another chance before you throw them away!!
M&S sell packs of gel stickers you stick on the bits where shoes rub your feet. They really work and come in lots of sizes so you can put a small dot by your pinky toe if that's what you need. They are about £3 for a pack.
It's only a game

Poor You!! Blisters are so painful!
I bought some new shoes from Primark a couple of weeks ago and oh my god! I was literally in agony at the end of the day, i had no skin left on either heal!! I had to drive home barefoot cos i couldn't stand the pain. When i got home i put the shoes straight in the bin. good riddance!!
I can't tell you how painfull it was having a bath, i actually cried when i put my feet in the water! Its quite funny when i look back, but at the time it was terrible. I bought some of that Savlon spray because i couldn't touch it with my fingers! I also had to wear flip flops for a few days as well! Make sure you keep the area clean and dry and try and get plenty of air to it!
Hope they get better soon!:heart2: Newborn Thread Member :heart2:

Ouch, poor you!
Is there no chanc the shoes will break in? Be more MSE to break them in than give them away if you can. When I get new shoes I put them on at the at the very end of the day when my feet are most swollen, over a pair of very thin socks or laddered tights-to make use of the laddered tights. I wear them a few minutes at a time doing house workoutting stuff away, until I've seen if there are any bits that are less forgiving (the thin socks add pressure and speed this process up, without letting the rub become too sore without be noticing. Then I spray with a spray from the cobbler's shopwhich allows you to add a very slight stretch or give. I usually soften both at the heel and the left one near my big toes: it sems my feet are not a perfect pair.
Also, not glam, but I always take fabric plasters with me: I am prone to blisters, even in well used shoes, hence the serious prep that goes into my shoes.0 -
Totally agree with this except my shoes were filled with blood!! Not kidding, the lining of the shoe was stained with blood! I hated them with a passion and the only place for them was my wheelie bin!!:heart2: Newborn Thread Member :heart2:

I suppose the real question is, why do they make shoes that aren't the shape of our feet? Or why do we buy them thinking they will be ok!!0

I think a lot of it is our fault: buying shoes too early in the day, not wearing them for long enough while trying, and then not breaking in properly. Also, if you keep the skin on your feet nice and soft you are more vulnerable again! Of course, the other big mistake is to go a size too big, for caution, which gives blisters on the soles of your foot in my experience.0 -
It's an annoying waste of money too.
My Per Una slingbacks are are useless, after I've walked a few steps, the straps fall down and the shoes come off.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Old style MoneySaving boards.

Normally when your shoes rub, i put a little vaseline where the rubbing is taking place, this stops the friction, it sounds stupid i know, but it works.Never regret anything that made you smile0
