Incentives for people not going over drawn

What incentive od you think there should be for bank customers who have paid their loan repayments every month, along with credit card payments, mortgage payments etc.
Some people have always kept to their limits so as to incur charges - by doing this they have done without holidays other things eg holidays, going to the pub every week etc.
If we can claim all the charges back etc I now wish I hadn't bothered - I have just have done what loads of other people have done and just buy what I want when I want.
Seems to me if you stick to what you agreed with the bank you are worse off - maybe we should all just spend what we want then??

Well, do you know the consequences of being unable to pay off your debts?
You have the joys of multiple phone calls, the joys of paying more for what perhaps might be a small bill, you are branded poor risk and that means you can get credit from Vanquis(40%+ interest) loans from Payday(200+% APR) and when you try and sort it out, the doors are slammed shut because you are branded "one of them".
Financially you are a bad smell when before you were easily exploited for loans with PPI(which didn't cover you unless you were dead), given a credit card with minimim income of £5000(cos if you want it now, you have gotta have it now).
At a young age banks threw themselves to give you everything and you spent it with ease. Then when you fell under hard times the phone calls didn't come in for a review but from your new "surrogate parent". I told you to go to your room until you give me your money. In fact, Bob Geldof like "give me your money NOW".
So, you decided to use the internet and searched bank charges, loans etc.,etc and came across MSE where it told you a tale which no bank would have told you.
They LIED to you, they EXPLOITED your lack of fiancial savvy and then you found out that they were potentially UNLAWFUL. Then you claimed it back.
UNFORTUNATELY, for me, I am in the same boat as you except I spent with wild abandon and consolidated loans and had a damn good time. I never had charges (nor PPI cos I always thought, if I can't pay it I just don;t have anything to lose--no house, no decent car, and no expensive goods)so I have nothing to claim back, but I still help on the forums.
It's a cruel world

I find a massive incentive, they don't send me nasty letters, the sight of the postman does not send me into a cold sweat, I dare answer the phone, and I don't have to take out loans to pay back overdrafts etc. and the greatest incentive piece of mind, far more important to my quality of life than a monitery incentive, but I have lived both sides, and I never want to go back.Debt Free Dec 2009non-smoker 19th Nov 2010Trying to lose weight 40lb/42lb
