Credit Card Kept In Credit???

Hi there.
My partner and I are going on a cruise in Novemebr next year and you can't pay for anything in cash so thinking of taking a CC.
However, we had what we thought was a great idea of paying some money onto it each wee between now and though to actually put it in credit before we go so that we are not having to pay off a lump sum at the end of the hol???

Is this allowed? I am worried they will cancel the card and wipe our money off it because we are not using it correctly?

Please help.

Kind regards

Kalie

Credit Cards aren't designed to have credit balances and you could be in breach of the card issuers terms and conditions.

It would be better to pay money into a savings account so that you can pay the balance off when you return from your jollies.

For lots of reasons it's a bad idea.

Savings accounts are the best place for savings! Then apply for a credit card a couple of months before you go on holiday.

Many credit card providers wont allow positive balances.
Probably better to pay the money into a savings account where it will earn interest.
Then use the contents of that account to pay the credit card bill after the cruise.

I went with Princess cruises in 96 and they allowed visa debit cards, load it all onto one of them and pay it off in one go.
    or
If you think there might be a bit of debt left at end of hols, keep it in a passbook account and clear as much as you can when the bill comes in.

Who are going to cruise with, I went with Thomsons last year and just used my visa debit, when you board the ship you are given a card to use for all purchases, also you can pay part of your bill before cruise ends.

can you not get pre pay travel cards? that was you can load it with £s before you go - i think they may charge a transaction fee, but when i went on a cruise we paid balance in full at the end...
