Halifax Regular Saver - advice please on gross interest

If all the payments went through on the same days, it would make sense that the accounts opened earliest earned the least interest, as they will have had more 'empty' days and fewer days with the balances earning interest.
Doesn't explain why the accounts weren't opened on the same date, though - maybe just pressure of work/backlogs?Mortgage Free thanks to ill-health retirement0 -

Did you shift the SOs to the start of the month to maximise interest? If so, then the accounts beginning 18 July will have earned more interest. If you didn't, then you will have lost more than the amount you are quibbling about.0

The SO's went out on the 16th of the month for DS and DD and 18th of the month for DH and myself.
By the way, I was not quibbling about anything - I was just a bit bemused as to how the interest calculated over 365 days was different.0 -
But YorkshireBoy has told you how it happened. Did you not see his post #13?0

Thanks to all of you that took the time to reply to my original post - I am indeed stupid, as I thought! Still, always good to be told so (stops an overinflated ego)!!!
