I tried on friday evening to check and reserve an item at local store priced £29.99 but everytime I tried to check the site went down down ? I had no option but to go into store to check on Saturday (new catolouge out) surprised the price had jumped to £39.99!!!!!!!!! as my hubbie needed this I had no other option but to pay that price, I asked the sales about the problem and he checked with manager to be told I had to pay the new price as I had no reservation number!!???? i have e-mailed argos and wait there response, has anyone else had same problem? are they right?

The new argos catalogue came out on saturday so all the prices before that would have been void.A lot of prices listed before saturday were discounted as they were trying to get rid of old stock like certain makes or colours of mobile phones for example.0

argos make a point of stressing that the price you pay is the price on the day you actually purchase it, i do believe if you had managed to reserve it + printed out the email they may have honoured it but that would depend on the manager. why didnt you reserve over the phone ?This is a system account and does not represent a real person. But you still would have paid the price on the day not the price you reserved it at?! Also can't you text and reserve....0

It does appear to be at the managers discretion as to whether or not they honour these prices.
Just after Christmas last year an 'anomoly' arose whereby if you reserved both 'Carnival Games' and 'Mini Golf' for the Wii the second one incorrectly showed as being 1p (there was a thread about this in the Grabbit forum at the time). My wife went into one store where they agree to honour the 1p price but when my brother went into another store five miles away they wouldn't.
From what I remember from the thread it was a bit pot luck as to whether or not stores honoured the reserve price or not.The fridge is empty, the walls are damp, there's no hot water
And I look like a tramp and tramps like us
