it's not my style and C)doesn't really fit in with the rest of my wardrobe. Having said that one of the most 'cost per wear' item i have is a pair of leather pumps i bought from clarks in cheshire oaks £10 and i have worn them at least 5 time a week since getting them they are so flexible and fit in with everything else i own.
That chloe bag (all be it fake, are you sure about this??) was a real find, tara £10, never mind it has paid for itself!!
Totally off topic, i havn't visisted the 7lbs junked for a while as it has got sooo big, but i am 5lbs lighter so hoping to do 7lbs by end of July!!!
Well done on the weight loss Sharon. After this summer´s sales I have promised myself to never go to sales again because I think I do all of what you mention above. I think I would spend less overall if I just buy what I love that fits properly even if it is full price as I just lose the plot during sale time.0 -

When i got the the till they had been reduced to only £5:T
My all time bargin was prob a Gucci purse from ebay. Had been used once came with selfridges receipt and in box so 100% authentic. My favourite bargains are:
a black top from New Look with a lace panel in the back, white print and blue diamante stones on the front, its so unusual and so unbelievably comfortable - I keep it as a 'travelling top' as I go on a lot of train and coach journeys where I need to be comfortable, and its perfect for that. It cost £5 in Loughborough New Look's sale about 2 and a half years ago but its still going strong and will do for a while!!
Also, another 'travelling top' a black cotton gypsy-style t-shirt I bought in Evans when I was on holiday in Devon last year - its huge and so comfortable, that was £10 down from £15.
Im not usually very lucky in sales so I would say that they are my only real sale bargains - I've worn them both to death and will continue to!!!*The RK and FF fan club* #Family*Don’t Be Bitter- Glitter!* #LotsOfLove ‘Darling you’re my blood, you have my heartbeat’ Dad 20.02.200 -
Hmmm......
My mum would say her biggest clothing bargain was the mothercare basics white babygro she bought when I was born, it was worn by me until I grew out of it, then my younger sister wore it (and she was one messy dirty child), then my sisters doll wore it and was carted round EVERYWHERE in it, then my sister's son wore it (more than just about anything else he had). 30 years after she bought it the babygro is waiting for another generation, still white as white and not at all misshapen with all the poppers in working order!
My best bargain, my lovely black leather jacket, got it free out of my mum's attic, it was my Dad's "best" jacket that was hardly worn because it was "for best" and then he put on weight. I wore it just about constantly for about 8 years and got soooooo many compliments about it. It was an amazing cut and lovely quality. Sadly I can no longer fasten it, and the lining is about shot but you could still get away with wearing it.
I adore hand me downs and have had some great bargains just from my parents attic, including my wedding shoes, several jackets, shirts, skirts dresses, jeans (one paid that I wore as a teenager, grew too tall for and wore as shorts for a few more years).
I have also had some great bargains from primark that have really stood the test of time, such as a tracksuit that has done for school uniform jumper, pe kit, round the house scruffs and winter pjs (it was very cold at uni) at various times and is still going strong after 16 years, minus a few buttons. A white indian cotton kaftan top that cost about £4 that I wore for over ten years.
My favourite mansize rugby shirt was a freebie as it had been on display for years and the design was being discontinued. I got it 12 years ago and still wear it round the house or for sports.
I'm not afraid of a bargain me!!!0 -
I've had a couple over the years, my first being a pair of indigo denim gap jeans that fit like a glove for 50p at a boot sale - we're talking the sprayed on denim look - but alas I only got to wear them for 6 months when I was 17 as I had a growth spurt over the space of a few months and they became to short in the leg. (What gets me most about that is I'm only flipping 5ft 1/2" now :rotfl:)
Recently I got a gorgeous FCUK sky blue angora v-neck jumper for 50p, it is so soft and gorgeous and I know I'd never have been able to afford to buy it at FCUK.
I also got an asymetric-cut tartan skirt for 50p, it's only an Asda clothing piece but I haven't seen a single person with one, it looks amazing and is a great statement piece.
Finally I also got a River Island wool coat for 50p, it's a very classic deisgn that fits well and keeps me warm and dry.
All of this over the years has come from the same car boot sale amazingly! The "Bloodlust" Clique - Morally equal to all. My best sale bargain has to be a real suede Centigrade jacket I got from QVC for £10 last year. It fits me really well (big size...and so hard to find anything decent on the high street), lovely stud detail on it and a colour that really suits me. Unfortunately the collar has gone all manky and it needs a good cleaning - I will take on board the advice mentioned about wearing a silk scarf with it in future.0
