Mine was today... bought a beautiful fake Chloe handbag from a charity shop for £10... then got it home and discovered lots of coins in the lining... totalling £16.64! :rotfl::rotfl:The shop is 15 miles away in a town I never ever visit (except today as my friend brought me to give her an opinion on wedding dresses, we visited the CS on the way back from the bridal shop) so I will not be able to bring the money back as I don't drive. But I think I will donate the profit to the same charity so my guilt will be relieved. Technically the money belonged to whoever donated the bag and not the charity, and I doubt if they keep a record of who gives what. No charity shop has asked me for my name when I've donated stuff.

So... a free gorgeous bag! Woo! :D

I don't really do bargains, as this is where i always make mistakes. I'm blinded by the fact that it's so cheap and forget that A) it doesn't fit B) it's not my style and C)doesn't really fit in with the rest of my wardrobe. Having said that one of the most 'cost per wear' item i have is a pair of leather pumps i bought from clarks in cheshire oaks £10 and i have worn them at least 5 time a week since getting them they are so flexible and fit in with everything else i own.

That chloe bag (all be it fake, are you sure about this??) was a real find, tara £10, never mind it has paid for itself!!

Totally off topic, i havn't visisted the 7lbs junked for a while as it has got sooo big, but i am 5lbs lighter so hoping to do 7lbs by end of July!!!

OK, I'll play but not as dramatic as yours.

A black cashmere jacket I found in a charity shop over ten years ago for a fiver. Unfortunately no twenty pound notes in the pocket or anything but it was a discrete, classic style and I'm still wearing it, so the actual wear per pound ratio is probably less than a penny by now.

A Boyd two piece outfit, in an Oxfam. Its one of those Oxfams where everything seems quite expensive to me, for a charity shop, and anything ''designer'' goes on a special rack with a justifyably ore expensive price, but the ladies at the shop had assumed bright was cheap and it was with the tackier stuff next to the books, where I saw it!

I've also found Moschino, Chanel and Jimmy Choos in non-desinger rural charity shops. :)

Sadly, ATM the only thing that fits are the Jimmy Choos since I put on weight :(

I'm not really one for bargains. I tend to view sale stuff as rubbish that no on else wants and I can't be bothered to look through sale racks as they are messy and new season stuff always seems nicer, but the one item that springs to mind is a dark red leather jacket from topshop which I brought about five years ago.

I had been admiring this jacket ever since I'd seen it but I think it was £130 and at the time I didn't have that kind on money to spend on one item, then one day I spotted it in the sale I think it was reduced to £50 because a button had come off (there was a spare one inside), it was the only one and in my size so ofcourse I snapped it up straight away and took it to the till and it went through for £30. The style of the jacket doesn't date and as it's leather it will take alot to wear it out. To this day I still can't believe my luck that I got it as thinks like that never happen to me!

I'm not a fan of sale shopping either, but this summer I've picked up a few bargains, including some gorgeous brown leather strappy sandals from Dune, reduced from £75 to £40, and a brown leather clutch bag, down from £50 to £15.

My ultimate bargain was probably my vintage 70s bright red halter maxi dress, a couple of years ago, from my grandmother's sheltered housing's jumble sale. It's entirely handmade and handstitched, fit me like a glove (and will again once I am no longer housing a tenant), and was 10p. I bought a bunch of other stuff obviously from the same donation source, all for 5 and 10p, but that's the only one I kept.

A suede tan jacket with the tags still on it. Bought in a charity show for £3, but the sleeves where a bit dirty so I got it cleaned at £30. But still amazing value. The cleaners who specialized in cleaning suede and leather put a value of £200 on it.

I threw out the last suede jacket I owned because the cleaning bill was more than the jacket was worth to me. I hated the way the collar got all discoloured and manky-looking from absorbing the oils in my skin. One day, if I ever buy another I'll always wear a silk scarf when I wear it

    Thanks ladies!

Some of those bargains sound amazing, I am very jealous of BitterAndTwisted's £10 cashmere jacket, oooooooh! :D

sharronlovestospend, I haven't been back to the 7lbs thread lately either... because I am doing so badly! And then I read the thread the other day and had missed so much I hadn't the energy to write something to each individual. But I miss it so I am going back ASAP! And yes, I am pretty sure the Chloe bag is fake... although who knows?? Anyone who can throw away a bag with £16 in the lining is probably loaded enough to give away designer goods and hardly notice! :rotfl:

Edit to say: congrats sharron on the weight loss!!!!!!!
