I chased mine up yesterday to be told that they are only 4 weeks behind now and that there is nothing on the screen for me, so they have lost my forms.
They said ive to send them in again, yes I could do that but you have my ruddy forms, absolutely useless.
So now I have at the very least another months wait before they even get to it.0 -
Why not try the official complaints route? Normally works with the call centres?0

I sent off paperwork for a refund of current year tax on 13th July and cheque arrived this morning so just on 8 weeks receipt to posting of cheque.0

So is it generally 8 weeks for a rebate then? I posted mine off last week0

Just thought i'd give my input on the situation at present for me:
I'm currently waiting on tax rebates, from Bury Tax Office.
I mailed in my claim forms etc along with original P60's and a covering letter explaining my circumstances. I basically left employment in oct 2007, and returned in may 2008 causing the lapse in tax. This was all detailed to them in my covering letter as I am claiming overpaid tax for the fiscal years 2007 and 2008.
All information mailed April 5th 2009. Heard nothing back from them for two weeks when I received a letter through the post asking for information to explain the gap in my employment. So i called them up and re-sent the original letter in response (I had put in the original letter that I had no employment between the dates they queried).
During the telephone conversation, I asked the person if they had a copy of my letter that I sent in, he replied yes, to which I asked if they'd read it correctly. After prompting him to re-read it on their systems, he agreed whoever actioned the mail was not paying attention and would place a flag on my account to have it actioned within the next two weeks. Two weeks passed and nothing, so I contacted them, to which I was told to wait another two weeks whilst they process it.
Again another 4 weeks passed taking us into June. I called again, and was told to be patient as it was being dealt with currently, payment should be sent within two weeks so to call back then.
Again another 2 weeks, still nothing. I contacted them and was now informed that they were currently upgrading their computer systems and no payments were being issued until the end of june, I was advised to call back first week in july. So I did, and was told their systems were still being upgraded and to call back in a week.
Another week passed, I contacted them and yet again was told that the systems were still being upgraded and they couldn't help me. I was told to have patience and call back at the end of july as payment will have been processed by then.
As it stands now, I contacted them for the 7/8/9th time last week. And guess what.....their systems are STILL being upgraded and no payments are now being issued until mid-august. I have been told to wait until the end of august and call them back. I expressed concern that I am constantly being "fobbed off", and what guarantee do I have that when I call back at the end of August their systems will have been completely upgraded, because I fear this repetetiveness will go on until the end of the year. The agent then got really arrogant, and told me to stop complaining and just accept the fact that the tax office will deal with my request when they see fit.
This is a nightmare, and I'm getting passed from pillar to post. Anybody else had the same experience with Bury Tax office?
Ross
We have been chasing mu hubbies rebate since May. It is now January. I have sent a letter of complaint in that has never been acknowledged. Have now contacted the adjudicator office as tax office have told many lies regarding this rebate. They even told us that we have informed them of a change of address after they had sent cheque. We have lived at same house for 5 years!0
