My Mother in Law has been awarded (after a long battle) with higher rate DLA, both components. Which means she qualifies for a car on the Motability scam, sorry, I mean scheme...
Anyway - with this £2000 scrappage deal - would her 10 year old Fiesta with 19,000 miles on it be allowed to be used with Motability or is it just for Jo Public to use?
It seems a shame to scrap her car cos it's a nice 'un...!

Speaking as someone who lost one leg and part of the other whilst serving in Iraq and now pay a good part of my war pension to use the motability scheme - I find it particularly crass of you to refer to Motability as a scam.
In any case, in answer to your question, if she is looking at purchasing a car using Motability Hire Purchase then she can make use of the scrappage scheme.
If she is looking to lease a car on the scheme then no, she cannot use the scrappage scheme.

I'm in the Motor Trade, so I see the rougher side of MFL is what I was referring to.
Anyway, the MIL will be using her DLA for the car, which gets replaced every three years etc.0 -

Peter, I don't think Harvey meant any offence?
He was I asume referring to the fact as has been well debated on here, that the Motability scheme is not as charitable as they make out, the point being it is possible to finance a similar deal yourself for less:money:
Handing over the pension or DLA is not the best for everyone, just quite often the simplest;)I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)
Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed0 -
possably would if you brought the car instead of leaseing?0

Yes, if you get the car on HP via Smackability, then yes, the £2000 scrappage applies.0 -
