Freeview

I am considering getting freeview for myself when I move into my flat as a cheaper alternative to sky. Does anyone have it already? Or had it and think it's rubbish? Surely for the one payment of £25 it's worth getting isnt it?

    i have it,

ive never had sky, but freeview does the trick for me, ive had it for years, even before it was called freeview!

my first box was an old itv digial one when they went bust,

its getting better, well now that we have sky 3 etc, they have just done away with men and motors for some bloody quiz channel

thats what u will find tho, theres loads of quiz channels and loads of shopping channels, but i just set my favourites and dont put them on it!

but anyway, its nothing special, but as you say for the sake of 25 quid, and if u look harder and are in no rush u will get it cheaper, its fine.
  • Had sky never really used it , only watched sky sports news and live footy along with ITV2 . Had freeview since november now , haven't missed sky one bit really and go out to the pub to watch the footy ;) . I have 2 boxes, one is a Humax pvr 9000t which is excellent (pause live tv , picture in picture 160 gb hard drive, the list goes on ) and a cheapy for the bedroom. You can get them for about £25 now. Hope this helps. ;)

PS. Check Here if its available in your area first by putting in your post code

You need to check that your ariel can support freeview. I have a shared ariel in a flat and use a booster so I can get the digital signal. For some shared ariels the signal is so diluted you can't use a freeview box even with a booster. Also, some areas dont have the relevant connections although these are getting fewer and fewer. HTH

If I were you I would get it - I cant actually get Freeview here and the amount of programmes you see advertised for ITV2 or other digital channels!! Just make sure that you are in a Freeview area!

Oh yes, definately. We ahve Sky, but with the exception of the repeats on Gold, and the odd footie match almost everything we watch is available via freeview anyway.

Oh yes, we watch Sky One, I forgot. But it's the same old same old, as othe rchannels....The Simpsons, Malcolm in The Middle.
Don't know why we bother really.
I ave a dodgy H, so sometimes I will sound dead common, on occasion dead stupid and rarely, pig ignorant. Sometimes I may be these things, but I will always blame it on my dodgy H.

Sorry, I'm a bit of a grumble weed today, no offence intended ... well it might be, but I'll be sorry.
