Trust Deed Refused

Hi everyone i so so hope someone out there can help me as i am at my wits end and am so unhappy with the outcome and dont know where to turn. Here goes!! Back in December i went with a DMP i paid them for 1 month whilst they put me in touch with a IP to go ahead with a Trust Deed, applied for the Trust Deed and unfortunately creditors refused, i then got a letter from my Trustee saying that he as resigned as Trustee. So i went to a company that was free and started to pay on a DMP. Hope that makes sense so far. I have since been looking at stuff on the internet regarding Trust Deeds and realise that the Trust Deed could possibly still be running, although my Trustee told me to cancel the Direct Debit that i was paying to them. Confused!! anyway i have been on a DMP for 5 months now and all is going well, i called the Trustee to confirm that i was not in a Trust Deed and she said that is correct that my only option would be bankruptcy, i dont know what i should be doing or am i still in a Trust Deed and can the Trustee make me bankrupt? Please help i am so upset as i really dont understand what is going on.

Just to mention i dont really want to go bankrupt as i dont want to lose my house, i dont think there is any equity in the house, but its my home and would hate to lose it especially when im happy enough to pay money to clear off the debt for the next 13 years.
