very true about the halifax headoutofthesand;)
il have to be careful as my largest debt is with them on a credit card and as i have my only bank account with them i will have to be careful as ive heard that they have wiped someones bank account to pay towards their debt with them and it was their rent money and they cant do a thing about it.
i have 2 children to feed and rent to pay like the other person so i need to think hard about the best way to do it timewise with not being able to pay the credit card payments.
 thanks to all.0

Very true with Halifax. All banks are permitted to swipe funds to pay another of their own product - its in the T&Cs.
In that case, phone Co-Op RIGHT NOW!! Get that account sorted and get your payments moved over sharpish. Even if you were not contemplating BR, you should do this anyway as they are a creditor.0

you can do most things at the Post Office with a Co-op account, cash paid in over the counter is credited instantly, withdrawals can be done for free and they also accept cheques for deposit into your Co-op account (you should get pay-in envelopes from the Co-op with your welcome pack).
Direct debits can be managed using the internet banking.====0
