LOGMIN.COM free remote access for your computer, ideal if your not computer savvy and need a friends help to assist with techy problems, I have also posted this on the freebie thread as you can have the free version but would welcome any feedback before installing.

Agree. Having tried several similar applications I now use Logmein all the time. It's excellent. Very secure with 4 layers of security to gain access.

Any user of XP with a (free) hotmail address has already got this facility built into the system.
I use this through the built in XP facility to maintain one of of my company IT service support contracts on their network computers. How many surrealists does it take to change a lightbulb?

What's wrong with VNC? That's free (for the most part), multi-platform and does lots of cool stuff too with a good client/server combo.0

Packets aren't encrypted with VNC which poses a security risk. Any form of remote desktop is best used via SSH or a VPN.
The above website provides an easy to setup solution for the average user."Boonowa tweepi, ha, ha."0 -

I hadn't seen this before - it seems to work very well although time will tell if it is secure or not.
For additional larks and jollity try remotely controlling the machine the machine you are currently using. That it doesn't crash is quite remarkable.0
