Virgin Credit Card Trouble

Just after some advise really.
I have a Virgin CC that is up to it limit of £5400, unfortunaly due to the current economic climate i have been forced to use the CC just to get from one payday to the next.
I have now had the card suspended and agreed to slowly pay off the balance, i'm only paying the minimum payment each month as it is all i can afford, however to day i have noticed on my statement that i own more this month than i did last month.
I payed £60.00 minimum payment last month and they took £64.00 in interest, can they do this ?
I would dearly love to change to an 0% card but just can't afford the minimum payments with any other cards.
Any advise would be appreciated as at this rate i'll be dead before i clear the balance (due to old age not depression)
Cheers
no they cant do this, they done something very similiar to me and i wrote them a letter of complaint and they started crediting my account and finally for some reason my balance hit zero. The letter i got was a template off the internet somewhere, something about unfair charges, i was also getting phone calls morning noon and night and i made a complaint about the harrasement as they were phoning me at my work and everything, it sounds to me like you have grounds for complaint, i think you should challenge them about it as they will have a lawsuit on their hands if that goes to the "office of fair trading", good luck.Never regret anything that made you smile0 -
Can only see reference to the banking code for Virgin moneys deposit accounts (run by RBoS Rather than MNBA):
http://uk.virginmoney.com/virgin/legals.jsp
if you find anything contrary to this, you can make a formal complain here:
http://www.bankingcode.org.uk/howdo.htm
Apologies if links don't work properly (using my phone) you may have to copy and paste them in.
Unfortunatley signing up to the banking code is volentery, however if done it becomes legally binding.
Good luck and hope you get this sorted. Keep us posted !!0
