The police will normally release her Insurance details as you have a valid reason for requiring these, if not use the link I posted for askmid who will give you the Insurance details and the contact number for their Insurer for a cost of £3.50

As Quentin has posted above a 50 50 claim is regarded as your fault so please read his post

I spoke to the girl the night of the accident and she gave me her insurance details company and policy number, it is her house address and phone number we needed also her passangers information.
But the police have said that it is not needed let the insuarance companies fight that out :D

yip we are aware of that but as the police have reported, because of the road it happened on being a narrow country road, it is automatically classed as a 50/50 road.
But Due to Ians competance of driving the other car is being more at fault as Ian was in control of the car and avoided as much of the impact as possible the woman didn't she lost control of her car and smashed into the drivers side front wheel ( which then buckled and made the car unmovable ) so when the police arrived they knew Ian couldn't have moved the car and other vehicles got by him after the accident, including the pick up truck.
So the police although officially they have to report 50/50 Ian is less at fault than her.

Insurance info thanks that makes sense, I know when my brother crashed a few years back and it was written off he had a £260 bill outstanding  so we will need to wait and see what they do
