I am planning a skiing trip to Chile in late July and would welcome any advice from anyone who has been there before. Thanks.

Valle Navado and Portillo are the closest ski resorts to Santiage (I think about 2.5 hours from the airport0. Portillo is the older of the two resorts - Valle Navado being a specially built complex rather than a collection of houses and hotels. I think Valle Nevado is higher up too so skiing is possible for a longer season. (More expensive probably too).
There are other resorts - Thermas of Chillan - to the South of Santiago - plus various volcanos in the deep south where you can ski.
