Sales - Can I reclaim the money?

Hi,
We bought a trampoline from B&Q on our credit card Tues this week, I went back in yesterday to find the exact same trampoline on sale for £40.00 less.
I'm sure that I once heard that if you buy something on a card & goes on sale within a certain amount of time you are able to reclaim the excess but I could be imagining things.
Could anyone help - please?
Thanks,
Paul

Did you buy it at a B&Q Shop or online? If you bought it at a shop and took it away with you then you probably cant do anything about it (unless its faulty, damaged, OR if they have any sort of "no questions asked" refund policy for good returned in a certain amount of time. Its a Good idea to check out their returns policy!)
If its bought online or by phone you can return the goods under the distance selling regulations within a certain period, get a refund and buy it again at the lower price. I did this once when a TV I ordered fell in price by £100 between ordering it and getting delivery. I told the company I bought it from that I would return it under the distance selling regs and they just refunded me £100 to avoid the hassle!
Or you could ask them nicely to refund the difference==============================================You can use your money to save timeorYou can use your time to save money0 -
1: Ask them to match the price. If they will, great.
2: If they won't match the price buy it again at the cheaper price, then return it using your original (more expensive) receipt for a refund. You get 90 days to return things to B&Q. I did this recently with a BBQ which dropped in price by £30 in a very short space of time.0 -
B&Q do a very long (at least a month) return period. If you return the product to the store in its original condition (i.e. so they can resell it), they will provide a full refund. If you can't return it in its original condition, then you are stuck with it at the original selling price.0

or you could buy it at £40,
bring it home, swap receipts, go back into b&Q for a refund using the higher receipt?0 -
ohhh sneaky!Go hopefully into each new day, enjoy something from every day no matter how small, you never know when it will be your last0

And if it had gone UP by £40 you would, naturally, have walked up to the till and offered them the difference
Prices change all the time on most types of things. That's life!0 -

To add to the comments above, check your credit card info. Some credit cards offer a 'price promise'. For instance my Egg Money card has the following:
Price promise-
- Buy an item costing more than £50 and if you find it cheaper within a 30 mile radius, within 30 days of purchase, we'll refund the difference.
- You can claim up to £375 per item and up to four items per year.
- Internet purchases or items bought in a sale or as part of a promotion are not covered.
- Zero excess.
