Argos vs Ikea sofas?

I've just got a grant for a new sofa, of £200. I can afford to put about £100 towards it.
It needs to be long enough for me to lie down on (I'm 5ft8), and comfortable and supportive because of my back and joint pain (I have ME).
I was going to get one from Argos, but I've just started hearing bad things about them. To me though, Ikea ones look flimsy and uncomfortable. DFS, SCS etc are out of my price range.
So, does anyone have experience of either Argos or Ikea sofas? Or indeed beds, as I've been given £150 for that too.

My mother has a Argos sofa. Its about the same age as mine & has much lighter use & its tatty.
Stay away from Argos.0 -
If possible I want a fabric one not a leather one, but the Tesco one does look good, especially since I can get clubcard points.Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.0

I am sat on an argos sofa right now. It was only £250 and I've only had it 18months. It still looks ok but the padding in the seat cushions have gone and it isn't very comfortable to sit on anymore:(
Avoid argos imo!0 -
Tescos and Littlewoods seem to have everything you need.
Do not forget to look for vouchers before you buy.S!!!!horpe0 -

I find buying anything like furniture, big things, from Argos, you can't really see it before you buy.
I know you can send it back, but looking at something in a book is not the same as actually be able to sit on it.
All the stuff we've ever got from Ikea we've been happy with.A good cowboy always drinks upstream from the herd.
A good cowgirl always keeps her calves together.0 -
What do you mean look for vouchers?
If you follow this link you will see voucher codes (usually a series of letters and numbers) for littlewoods. When you order online there will be a space to redeem vouchers, simply put the code in there and it will take the discount off.
In that link there is a voucher for 30% off furniture, which is a bloody good code if it works, AND another one for £15 off your first order. If you are lucky, both vouchers will work but be quick, they run out soon
