Help bt/tiscali fiasco

I have been trying to switch my land line to Tiscali, I called BT to advise that I did not wish to renew my contract however did state that i did not want the line cancelled as I was switching to Tiscali. I signed up with Tiscali on 6th July, on 20th July Bt cancelled the line so the Tiscali order which was part way thru failed. Now I have no land line (tho my broadband is still working) Tiscali say they need the BT line to be active, Openreach say that the line is in a STOPPED state and that any communications provider can take it on. I don't know what to do next, I spent 52 mins on phone to BT being passed from pillar to post, in the end they said they would release the number, not sure if that helps(?). Have made stacks of calls to the indian unhelpful call centre at Tiscali who just keep telling me to call BT! If anyone can help me, I just want a land line, preferably with the same number but not essential - Does this mean I have to go back to BT coz at the moment that is looking like the only option but they are so expensive on the line rental...........HELP......!:mad:

I think Talk Talk now own Tiscali. That may explain the problem.

Tiscali ( Talk Talk ) ...You get what you don't pay for.

BT are bad enough, Tiscali are a joke.

I realise this, not sure why that would make a difference. Where should I go from here?

Talk Talk have a representative on here, you could try sending her a PM, or join the Talk Talk Forum, I would guess that they cover Tiscali now.
