I'm not sure how scottishspendaholic feels, just thought I'd make it clear there's no pressure on her :)

  • Hi everyone,

Thanks very much for your interest in little old me! (I'm really very boring!)

Its a Scottish magazine and I haven't seen it yet - I'm too MSE to buy it (glossy so £5!) and I'm waiting for my free copy! However, when I have got it, I'll scan in the page and PM it to all of you.

Unfortunately the journalist told me last week that they had to drastically cut my feature as someone else they went to meet turned out to be a stoner so they had to rethink very quickly and my article and photo ended up being cut as a result (didn't quite understand that logic but I don't work in print journalism). So I'm a bit disappointed and haven't really got my hopes up about it.

I'm really glad my photo won't be in there (hence why I don't mind PM'ing to all of you too - I'm not the prettiest person!) as its been cut but a bit annoyed I took the morning *off* (okay, I pretended I had the docs!) to stay in for the photographer and tidied up and everything!

Nevermind, lets hope it brings me in some business!

Ah, what a pity you made all that effort and its not going to be included! I'd love to see the article whenever you get your hands on a copy. I'm impressed with your devotion to MSE principles, if it was me in a magazine I'd not be able to restrain myself from buying one :rotfl:

Thanks SS, I'll look forward to that PM! Sorry they reduced the size of the article but really hope it serves its purpose and you get lots of business in! Fingers firmly crossed for you ;)

    Hi, SS

Very interesting and inspiring thread. I am very happy for you. It is a great feeling - climbing up the debt hole back to the surface. And it is very brave of you to write the update. I don't think I would have guts to do it (I am more of a reader than a poster

I have never heard of post office savings stamps. I will ask at my PO tomorrow - sounds like a great idea!!!!

    Hi SoScrooge,

Thanks so much for your comments - everyone is very lovely if you ever feel like posting!

The post office savings stamps are £5 each and you can use them to save for anything you buy in the post office i.e. tv license, car tax etc. They replace the old car tax and old tv license stamps apparently. They make sure I don't spend the money!
