Cant connect laptop to Orange Livebox using WEP or WPA

Can anyone help on this problem, I am able to coNnect my DD laptop to Orange live box on a wireless connection but the problems occur when I set my Livebox to either WPA or WEP. I know I need to use WPA but was never able to connect with it. I have previously connected laptop with a WEP key but my DD laptop has been out of action for 2 weeks since she broke her AC adapter.
I have managed to connect it tonight without security encryption but I don't feel easy about this. I have my WEP key which is listed on the bottom of the Livebox.
In my Livebox security I have the following options available

WPA or WEP security WPA security only WEP security only No security
Wifi easy pairing is enabled

The laptop which is running on Vista has the following options under its security tabs

Security type
No authentification(open)
Shared
WPA2-Personal Under WPA options I have available AES or TKIP
WPA- Personal
WPA- Enterprise- I realise the Enterprise mode is not applicable
WPA2-Enterprise
802.1X

With WPA, WPA2 and WEP I have ability to enter the security keys

I was able to get as far as the Livebox showing connectivity when I tried WEP but showed connection as limited access and I couln't get on the Web.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Choose a key yourself, and save it on the router.

WPA security only on the router.
WPA- Personal and tkip on the laptop.

    Use the pairing button.

I will try that but I have a couple of further questions. Where do I find the option to chane my pass key as I can't seem to find it and when should I pair, before typing in the passkey or after I have entered it ?

I'm sorted now, all I did was change the default WEP key provided with the Livebox to my own password and hey presto it works. It obviously didn't like the predetermined passkey.
  • I havea Pocket LOOX PDA with wifi and bluetooth and haven't been successful in connecting it to my Wanadoo Livebox. I get as far as being asked for the passkey.
When I try to enter my Livebox WEP key, there isn't enough space for the entire key, only accepts about 15 characters.
