F-in-L has just got a new gas BBQ. It does take a little time to get used to the whole temperature gauging but after that its great.

I went to my local Asda this afternoon to try to find the barbecue.

They had one reduced from £75 to £50 but it was a more basic 2 burner gas model that isn't on the web site.

OP - was it definately the 3 burner model you found in-store?

I did manage to pick up a remote control floor fan for £5 less than I could get it on Amazon!

    is gas better than charcoal???

serious question as i have never ever used a gas bbq or been to one
  • Newton Abbot store had dozens of these. There was one on display next to the boxes and it is definately a three burner one. I have a two burner gas bbq and I love it. It is different than cooking over charcoal but once you get used to it the effects are very similar - apart from less food gets burned as it's so much more controlable.

Absolutely, everything tastes the same but instead of the hassle of setting up & lighting, waiting etc, you just flick a switch & you're ready to cook.......;)
