Want to add 21 year old on my Commercial Vehicle Insurance

I wanted to add my daughters boyfriend, who was 21 last month onto my Commerical Van Insurance for two days starting tomorrow .. The van is a 1994 VW Transporter 1.9 Diesel (not Turbo).

I can't get hold of the insurers because they closed at 5.30pm

Its quite important, and I will be fretting slightly until I can call them at 9.00am tomorrow to see if I can do this, but have been told it might not be possible because he is under 25.

Can anyone tell me if there might be chance ... or whether there could be another way of going around this.

Thankyou :o

i imagine thier licence will be ok for this van, its only a transporter, they arent capable legally of carrying more than 3.5 ton

They can't carry that much. ;)
If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.

the license will be fine, as for insurance you insurer may not cover him on commerical insurance

try dayinsure or search insurance for a day

My point is that a lot of people think a 3.5 tonner can carry 3.5 tonnes. They can't. It's their maximum permitted weight, which is quite different. I merely wanted to clarify your statement, for the benefit of anyone reading. :)

  • Another insurer offering short term / daily van insurance is evaninsurance.co.uk
They are an online insurer so cover could be taken out anytime of the day. Bit late for this time around but worth considering if you need short term cover in the future?
