Tesco Deals

Visited the biggest Tesco in Northern Ireland today (Carrick) and there where no offers on the Quantum washing tablets or rinse aid---the cheapest perfume/aftershave started at £14 and I noticed a severe lacking in tesco clubcard points in the wine section----what is happening over here---is anyone else experiencing this problem in Northern Ireland?

How does a brown cow give white milk, when it only eats green grass?
  • Tesco store in Carrick leaves a lot to be desired. I go every week (live nearby) before they extended the store it was ok now (oh dear) their stock levels are crap. Every week I have to go to another supermarket to get what Tesco's have run out of and that can be 8 or 9 items. Will have to consider going somewhere else. My nearest Asda is either Shore Road, North Belfast or Ballyclare. Sainsburys is a no no, too far away. There has been a rumour for some time that Asda AND Sainsburys are suspose to be setting up in Carrick. WONT BE HOLDING MY BREATH. gasp gasp

Email them and complain. They are usually very good when you do ;)

I would have thought the biggest Tesco in N.I. would have been Newtownbreda, no....?

Tesco on the mainland have a pharmacy dept built in but because of our laws they cant do that over here hence we get very few of their pharmacy//health and beauty offers.

Not sure if Calgon and Finish are the same thing but Yorkgate have lots of Finish Tabs on offer plus they're 100% extra free, think it was 40 tabs.

  • I know it can seem a real hassle shopping around but I normally shop in LIDL for the bulk tinned and frozen foods and cleaning products. Much cheaper and their own brands are just as good quality as any other supermarket if not better.

I try to buy my fresh veg from a local greengroceer and meat from a local Butcher (I know though they are quite hard to find in some towns nowaday). Tends to be much better quality than the supermarket and I know they can be a bit more expensive at times but again they do have deals on if you are willing and have the space to buy in bulk...

Actually was in a Fishmongers on Saturday... yes a real fishmongers... a family business which had shut down when Tesco moved into the town many years ago... They've re-opened and doing a great trade.. mostly because the range in tesco is !!!!!!.. all the same bland old fish..... on the other hand he had a great range of different fish, some I haven't seen in years.... unfortunatly it is 70 miles from where i live... was visiting my parents at the time..
